April 27, 2023 - Bottle 344/520 drank at Cuverie chez CLB. Louis-Michel obviously produced sensational 2015s, based on a recent Reignots and this Petits Monts. Petits Monts is such a rare bird so it was the right choice to try this at the source. I do think based on my experiences (comparing 2012, 2014 and 2015 of Petits Monts and Reignots - also confirmed 2020 and 2021 barrel samples) that Reignots is a (clear) step up to Petits Monts. No quibbles as Petits Monts is silky refined and unbelievably beautiful and pure but Reignots just has one foot (or even more) in Romanee complexity wise. After Reignots it's just Romanee as logical succession.
Back to the extraordinary wine that is Petits Monts 2015 though, lush and sexy candied fruit without heaviness, a touch of loam lending salinity. It's so easy to drink, but then aren't all CLB wines? I loved it, and I fear it might be my first and last time drinking this. Glad I did though. BTW the 2012 had a day later was even better... 96+ for this beauty.1 person found this helpful Comment -

August 15, 2021 - Big Burg Energy: Wow, this is incredible. So rich and deep already. Filled with rich spices and deep fruit. Incredible persistent with so much extra filling that'll come around with age. Insane showing. Wow.
