June 6, 2018 - Looks a bit light in the glass, smells a bit light too. Fruity and playful on the nose but just doesn’t have the density, length or complexity I would expect from a grand cru at this price. Not convinced about this at all...

June 4, 2018 - Liger-Belair Dinner (Hong Kong): Stalky florals beginning to show, but otherwise mostly closed and inexpressive. Better than the ‘15 Clos Vougeot but still monolithic.

January 30, 2018 - Delicate perfume of cherry, raspeberry, deep scent - packing loads, some reduction straight away. Was half-expecting this to jump out of the glass but actually rather tight. Very nice texture, velvety tannins. Bit hot but doesn’t get in the way. As with nose packing so much. Quite dense. Will get higher score over time just very tight now. Hold the press, this one is developing nicely in the glass. Spices and cola (freakin love this) characteristics coming through on the nose. Very fine indeed.

June 28, 2016 - Tuesday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Remoissenet, Bernard Moreau, Pousse d'Or, Comte Liger-Belair (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Red and black cherry throughout with subtle spice aromas, more robust spice flavors. Elegant textural start, denser and more concentrated finish comes across as both powerful and weightless at the same time. An amazing, great wine in the making.
