January 19, 2021 - A very approachable value Barbera which is still showing very well at 5 years. Med to med (+) ruby. Med (+) aromas of red cherry, black cherry, black plum. Aging for 4-6 months in large casks imparts a subtle but pleasant spice and vanilla note. Dry, but pleasantly fruit-forward, with med (+) acidity, med tannins and high alcohol (14%). Med (+) body, flavor intensity and length. Very quaffable and food-friendly, this is a fine example from Alba.
