June 19, 2020 - Tasted blind together with 2011 Exton Park Britagne Blanc de Blancs, 2008 Dom Pérignon Champagne and NV Billecart-Salmon Champagne Brut Réserve with friends. The English sparkling Exton had the sharpest taste, very acidity, but the nose was pronounced with bread, chalk, grapefruit, lemon. It was better compared to Prosecco and price-wise relatively cheaper than Champagne. It was ranked last of the 3 which was expected. The Billecart had a more diluted nose compared to Exton, its taste is rounded and less acidity. There's also bread, chalk, grapefruit but less pronounced. Most had guess Billecart was the DOM which leaves them surprised. The DOM was the wine for me for the night. The nose was pronounced, with grapefruit, mineral, chalk, apple, fresh. High acidity. This 2008 DOM has the potential to match up with 1996 DOM if given more time to evolve.

June 17, 2020 - Bread, biscuit, grapefruit, lemon on the nose. 8/10 on the nose, but on the palate, it's very acidity and sour. My first experience with English sparkling wine. Very surprising and value for money.

December 14, 2019 - Lutefisk and BYO: Blind. Barnyard and fish, citrus; Lime and salt; tight, high acid, chalk, lots of mousse. Correctly identified as a BdB from England.

89 poeng.
