November 3, 2022 - Definitely feeling “aged”, but still showing some fruit and some spice. Silky and soft on the palate and a nice finish.

June 20, 2020 - One of the best wines I have ever had. Delicious and complex with a long dry finish. Strong flavors include licorice and dark jammy fruit. Hazzah 99/100

June 2, 2019 - Aromas of dry sweet black liquorice, cumin, Cardom spices, vanilla, dense black cherry, with warmth in front of mouthfeel, zingy acidic on the front of the palette, with very smooth sweet tannins. Long finish with a bit of dry earthyness.

August 10, 2017 - Opened 4 bottles. 3 in perfect condition, 1 flawed. Decanted for 1 hour then served with slow cooked lamb shoulder and celeriac puree. Heavy sediment in the bottle. Wine still almost purple black colour. No sign of bricking. Wonderful expressive nose of fruits of the forest. Almost jammy. Not complex but balanced and very smooth. Opened up a little in the glass. Real treat.

medium bodied, soft firm tannins, fine balance, fine structure, medium complexity, mature, somewhat over the peak, but still enjoyable

September 7, 2014 - Still full of life. Backbone of jammy black fruit still there but softened with age.

May 17, 2014 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like blueberry, blackberry, black currant (cassis), raisin, strawberry jam, coffee, vanilla, black pepper and sherry.

November 25, 2013 - Mid garnet graduating to a bricking rim.
The nose shows super-ripe black fruits with liquorice, marinated blackcurrants, cloves, cinnamon and cassia root, and a vanilla pod ice cream element. Some tertiary was also poking through.
Super smooth entry, the wine is hugely rich with glycerol and just about enough acidity to keep it balanced. A creamy, supple mid-palate, the tannins are ripe and seamless, and the flavours show creme de mure, blackberry, rhubarb, cassis, liquorice and overripe nectarine. Plush to the back palate with a touch more blueberry and spices appearing, this is a high-quality wine even if it doesn’t feel that complex.

August 9, 2013 - Smoky nose of rich dark fruits. Initially in mind of an old arm chair - leathery and comfortable. Dark fruits continue on the palate with a rich chocolatey mid palate. Not overly long but very enjoyable.
