June 27, 2023 - This is drinking great right now. The wine is very complex and shifts flavor as it opens up. I get melon and pineapple on the fruit side, and a lovely nuttiness to balance it out. It was a real shapeshifter and I can't wait to revisit more vintages of this wine.

May 5, 2023 - Excellent, excellent, excellent! I loved this wine when I tasted it and bought it at their tasting room several years ago and I love it even more now. When I initially bought the wine, I knew that I wanted to hold on to it for a few years before opening it. There was something about it that spoke to me and said this wine would be even more interesting with some age on it. Boy, I'm glad my hunch was right.

December 16, 2022 - My wife normally hates anything Sauv. Blanc, so I was surprised when she said "I really like this". She thinks it tastes French. IDK, maybe. To me it just comes across as an extremely, hard to pin down blend. Call me crazy, but I think the melange invokes a bit of tropical. Some of the notes others have mentioned blend together for me in a way that evokes hints of pineapple and a light bit of coconut.

I wouldn't pull this out for visitors if I wasn't sure they were a tad adventurous or open minded. That said, I really enjoy this.

I look forward to pairing a future bottle with a thai curry that's not overly spicy but features a bit of coconut in the broth.

December 9, 2022 - Truly enjoy this blend although it contains varietals I usually don't care for. Such is the art of Morgan Twain Peterson.

November 20, 2022 - Trying this again years later and it’s become a super interesting aged Bordeaux Blanc blend, dry grass, cat pee, butterscotch, corn tortilla, roasted nuts, but nothing overwhelming. Lean, but not super acidic. Long finish with a ton of staying power. Really enjoyed the complexity.

I’ve often heard people say that ages Semillions are some of their favorite wines and I can see why.

October 11, 2022 - Tastings at Bedrock, Sojourn, Extradimensional Wine Co Yeah!; 10/10/2022-10/12/2022 (Sonoma): Bright, smooth and creamy. Fruit is sweet honeydew rind, but medium-plus acidity balances the fruit. Some softness and well integrated. Ethereal and lifted, but still with a stiff backbone.

I like it, but not wifey's jam.

Serve with seafood - oysters or paella?

August 3, 2022 - Beautiful wine pop and pour. Old world, old vines, new memory. Close the eyes and it feels like your in Bordeaux. The finish seems to last as long as the sunset. Just enough lime acidity to gracefully carry the honeysuckle, minerals, and a touch of caramel with exotic fruits. One of those wines where you emit an involuntary sigh when seeing the bottom of the bottle.

November 7, 2021 - Comprised of the oldest Semillon plantings left in the country (from Monte Rosso), barrel fermented in a combination of new Stockinger barrels and older barrique in a range of sizes and Sauvignon Blanc from Judge and Uboldi Vineyards.
The nose shows high intensity in the aromas of orange marmalade, lime, quince, honeysuckle and elderflower, sea breeze and minerals with hints of lemongrass and green melon.
The palate is unctuous with a fleshy texture and juicy acids. Flavors are full and display notes of marmalade, quince, lime zest, and lychee, white flowers, rock and minerals. The finish lingers with the warmth of the abv.

September 1, 2021 - “Cuvee Karatas is composed around the oldest Semillon vines in the country, planted in 1886 at Monte Rosso Vineyard in Sonoma Valley.
    —MTP”

    Rich golden color.
Nose some golden fruit, peach, some florals.
Palate golden stone fruit yet dry with a waxy hint. A strongly mineral backbone.

Food friendly, nice when chilled to sharpen the flavors.
Good with orange chicken and scallion pancakes with vinegar.
