Community Tasting Notes 5

February 12, 2019 - Last one went down with some arroz con pollo. This was dark cherries, still pretty sharp acids, and now getting leafy and leathery. Keeping my eyes open for more.

February 6, 2019 - Medium(+) ruby color. I'm a little stuffy tonight but getting some aromas of dark fruits, a bit of floral, walnuts, dark chocolate, vanilla, and some wet rocks and minerality. Medium body and finish, medium to medium(+) acidity, with flavors following suit. I'm not sure how this will age (I do tend to like my Riojas a little dusty, even the inexpensive ones), but it's drinking pretty well now and I'm thinking it's probably best over the next couple of years. Drank well with slow cooker shredded Mexican chicken tacos tonight. 87-88

Edit: drinking another 2/12 with no stuffy nose and this note holds
    perfectly true.

February 18, 2018 - With chicken tagine at K&S&G's home. Was pretty closed on P'n'P but blossomed over the evening. This is a great value. Nails all the tempranillo in oak notes that Cab drinkers who are suffering palate fatigue should check out. It's not wildly individualistic, but it's a nice example of what good under-the-radar makers are doing well. Has about the most basic black and white label you'll see--I don't think they rely on shelf sales too heavily.

August 15, 2017 - In a week of Tempranillo, this was the best. Still pretty juicy, but it had lots of structure that might suggest giving it still more time. This is not dessicated old-school Rioja, nor is it slickly international. Wold buy again at this price. A brand with little US presence to keep an eye out for.
