October 3, 2021 - Wasn’t sure why I bought this, but after having it I remembered back to the great tasting room experience! As you would imagine, ver Riesling like. Crisp and sweet. Almost clear in color. Medium plus depth.

February 16, 2021 - This showed way younger than I expected a 6-year Rkatsiteli from NY to show. A little RS (looked up after the fact, 7 g/l), but shows dry due to high acidity, in the same way as some German rieslings do. Interesting aromatics, almost like a 70-30 riesling/sauvignon blanc, and similar on the palate. A little less leesiness than my previous bottle. No reason this wouldn't be good 10 years down the road or more.

March 10, 2020 - Drinking beautifully right now. Extremely fresh, awesome steely herbal notes, some autolytic notes with bright acidity, lemon, orange zest, white peach. Short on the finish, but that’s my only quibble. CT drinking window is off - this shows no signs of fading in the next couple years, and I’d guess a drink by date of 2025. Under screwcap.

February 9, 2020 - Lovely wine with fresh fruit, great acidity, and some underlying herbal/earthy notes. It also has an interesting interplay between a biting acidity, and yet a full mouth feel with great length. Overall a great example of what I believe is the FLX finding its place in the world. Should age awhile yet, possibly longer.

December 25, 2019 - Crisp and refreshing. Lacked flavor and fruit but was a nice pre-dinner wine. Almost white in color. Probably need to be served on the colder side. Merry Christmas!!

May 1, 2017 - Its a very good wine - but we are still trying to recreate our very first Dr. K Rkatsiteli - years ago - it had a fuller and sweeter taste...

December 3, 2016 - Very light in color; almost like straw tinted water. Aromas of ripe pear, green apple, river rock, mineral, and a touch of floral. Medium(+) body, acid, and finish, with a mineral led palate that carries through on the aromatics. Interesting wine. Fresh and bright, and worked perfectly with our sushi dinner, particularly the sashimi portion. A buy at $20 or less.

November 14, 2016 - PnP at cellar temp. Showed MUCH better at ~58 deg. F than the colder serving temperature in the tasting room. Nose along the lines of an excellent white Burgundy: bruised pear, apple, peach, secondary lees(?) influence, cinnamon, a touch of floral cleaner, and cold metal. Bright and intriguing on the palate, with an effervescent, bright attack with medium(+) acid that carries through the moderate-length, mineral-driven finish. Fruit flavors carry through very well from nose to palate.

This is a really cool rendition of an unusual grape variety, and a must-try for any geek or enthusiast. Paired exceptionally well with washed-rind soft cheese, but could be really nice with a roasted pear and parsnip soup or an assertive seafood (even lobster!). Not sure of cellaring potential, but probably good through 2018. "Very good-to-excellent," 90/100.

October 17, 2016 - Honeymoon in the Finger Lakes; 10/17/2016-10/20/2016 (FLX, New York, USA): Tasted at the winery. Poured cold. Funky nose with a certain dairy quality in addition to sweet butterscotch and floral elements. High acid makes this perk up on the palate. Very unique, "very good," 87/100.
