November 16, 2023 - {Tasted in flight of this wine, 2014 Corton-Charlemagnes from Jadot and H Boillot, 2015 Jadot C-C} Super classy, spherical, complete wine with a depth to the complex flavors & fruit that wowed the group. Tonight ranked this 94+ and thought the 2014 Jadot Corton-Charlemagne just pipped it (95) but the table thought this the better wine. Second time I've had this wine and it is really, really good (thank you SE for bringing this!). A wine you could sip all night by itself yet it was an excellent wine with food (smoked salmon).

2015 Jadot C-C was fatter, not as elegant, "tastes like a Folatieres" 93
2014 H Boillot C-C needs time, has the right structure, but no where ready to drink, 91-92 and in 10 years probably will outshine all the above

June 23, 2023 - {Tasted in flight of 2013, 2014, 2015 Gambal Batards and 2008 Leflaive Batard, served by SE & SE and tasted with JL} Sophisticated, elegant, wine with elements of elderberry and acacia ... just flat out delicious. Still light yellow, great nose. An intriguing hint of some bitter hazelnut in the finish and the capacity to just fill the palate broadly and deeply. Comes across as middle weight but the has superb persistence, length, palate presence. Spherical, nothing out of balance or sticking out, not as big or phenolic as the Leflaive but has an extra dimension to it in the finish that took ~ 30 minutes to appear. The class of the 3 Gambals and easily as good as the 08 Leflaive.

November 4, 2017 - Already flat out delicious because of its juicy sweet fruit and restrained alcohol and oak, the ‘14 Alex Gambal Bâtard is a lovely wine and easy to enjoy at this infant stage. It’s more a middle weight though, so I can only hope it becomes fuller with bottle age. If so it could become superb.

March 11, 2017 - La Paulée de New York - Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - Chelsea Piers): Vibrant and very Batard in character. Rich and coating on the palate. Fine juice.

March 11, 2017 - La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2014 Vintage Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Mint and obvious oak. Light pineapple flavors. The concentration and feel are poor and fall short of Premier Cru, much less Grand Cru quality. A joke in this context.
