October 15, 2022 - Tastes like a mini version of claude dugat gevrey chambertin. Leathery notes , cigar all there.

November 30, 2021 - Pale ruby with a bit of garnet, the nose is quite lively and expressive with fresh herbs, bright acidic red fruits, some green grass stalks and a hint of earth, smoke meats and vanilla. Palate is fresh, with bright acidity underlining the cranberry, red cherry and strawberry flavours, but also has a slight hint of green grass and the tartness of green apples, with a minerally savoury element, but not in an unpleasant way at all, it just adds to the interest and complexity. Some gentle grip towards the finish to indicate it has a few years in it yet. Very nice, but don’t expect a fruit bomb, this is more cerebral than that.

Lasting impression : interesting, fresh and green, a bit like a Granny Smith apple

February 17, 2021 - Beautiful tart cherry/rhubarb flavors. Mouth-watering acidity (which is very much to my taste). Not highly complex, but a very nice, long finish.

September 16, 2018 - Red fruit, forest floor, mushrooms. Exactly in the right place now. Drinks like a 1er Cru from a top winemaker. Excellent value for money.

September 12, 2018 - Very nice. Red-fruited pinot nose. Red fruits mixed with darker tones (oak char?) on the palate, finishing with some pleasantly bitter tannins. Pretty big presence.

June 11, 2018 - Janselijn Wines & Verkerk Wines Burgundy v. Tuscany Tasting (Restaurant The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Hotel V, Amsterdam, NL): Trade tasting, brief note. Quite a shift in style after the modern and polished wines from Millot and Duroche, much more rustic and tannic, firm and structured for a wine of this level.

March 4, 2017 - Burgundy Warm Up Weekend-Primarily 2014 White and Red (Noe Valley Wine & Spirits, The Wine Club, San Francisco): Light center, watery rim. Fragrant soil and green herbs. Light but surprisingly sappy. Bright acidity, dry black fruit, long, soil-filled finish. Impressive drive and detail for a Bourgogne. Hardly a bargain, but really very good, and probably even better in 3 to 4 years.
