May 4, 2019 - Popped and poured. Faded crimson garnet color. Opens with a dominant meaty note, with red berry fruit and white pepper spice underneath. Red fruit and pper on the palate. Just a hint of herbal/garrigue elements. Medium+ finish.

September 22, 2017 - A decent bottle last July didn't prepare us for this one being so necrotic. At first, clear and mature in a wonderful way but it turned cloudy, nasty and undrinkable before we could go to a second glass. And I have two more? Shit.

August 26, 2017 - Cellar diminishment party - brief note. Drinking nicely. Red fruit and warm spice. 88-89.

July 13, 2016 - Didn't decant; should have. Not the typical old nose, but gamey, old wet dog aromas--would be offputting to anyone who doesn't enjoy old wine and even I who do had to get used to this. Younger on the palate insofar as acidity and tannins go but I wouldn't let these stew any longer.

April 23, 2016 - Note: I use a rating scale for which 85 represents a very good wine.

Very nice CDP. Nothing to go crazy about, but more than decent. Pretty traditional CDP palate of flavors. '04 seems to have been a good, but not spectacular year for CDP. My sense is that this wine should be consumed soon.
