April 17, 2021 - Francois Mikulski Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2014

France, Burgundy, Pinot Noir, 12.5% abv

Deep garnet color with great clarity.

Bouquet of ripe berries, black cherry, black raspberry, wet earth, baking spice .

Body is bright and acidic. Very dry with nicely rounded tannins. Medium weight on the palate with nice freshness. Initial flavors are dominated with underripe raspberry and black cherry. Warming finish continues for some time with sweet tobacco and anise seed.

This wine is a good value for the $35 range. It’s drinking very nicely now and with the acid, should remain for a couple years at least.

September 19, 2017 - Raspberry, red cherry, earthy, with a lighter body. nice sweet spice notes, but this is a bit too soft and thin. Solid Bourgogne, but nothing special here.

April 14, 2017 - Wine & Cheese at Kheam Hock.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries and violets. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium- tannins, medium- body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, raspberries, stony minerality, mild spice. Touch of bitter rusticity towards the medium finish.
Very good quality Bourgogne. Nice ripe dark red cherry fruit. Feels like it could drink well over the next 3 years.
