July 9, 2018 - Disappointing, given all the hype around Tolpuddle and its association with S+S. More so given the halo reviews by some of the big reviewers. While having more depth and complexity than many Australian PNs it is still very fruity and even a bit sweet and really lacks sophistication. Sadly is not up to the standard of the top Californians or a good Burgundy. Very overpriced in context.

April 21, 2018 - Second wine on the Southern Hemisphere wines table at the Third Annual Oakton Wine Shop Bucket List Tasting. Light ruby red in appearance. Layered nose starting off with some bramble berries and cherries before developing further layers of violets, baking spices and smoked wood. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium minus body. Love the freshness of the acidity on the feminine palate which pulled through some crushed gravel, red berries and perfumed herbs. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2029.

September 14, 2017 - Grand Cru Pinot (Harbour 220/L15 131 Macquarie Street): Ashy stalks over lightweight cherry fruit and a little spice. The fruit is more to the fore on the palate swapping places with the stalks but the tannins, which are quite talc textured, are the only things that persist on the finish. Meh.

September 3, 2017 - Colour medium ruby edge clears slightly cloudy 13/15
Nose medium intensity sappy and vegetable notes over strawberry , raspberry and red cherry , savoury with a hint of confectionery 26/30
Palate more of the same on the palate relatively short finish with some bitterness 39/44
Overall hard to see the excitement that this wine generates , for the price I was expecting a lot more now , not a promise of better times ahead 8/11

May 15, 2017 - Shaw & Smith/Tolpuddle tasting (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): stalks over muted raspberry and strawberry pretty much dominate the nose in the same way that they are dominating the fruit. Touches of clove here as well. More of the same on the palate though the stalkiness is less prevalent though does lend breadth. Medium plus length. there is a touch of sweetness here that isn't quite right. Also it lacks a bit of freshness for me on this outing.
