Community Tasting Notes 5

September 2, 2023 - Good but did not jump out at me. Initially rustic with barnyard. That eventually settle after a few hours revealing a pretty elegant and classic Rioja. Cherry, iodine, mineral and some game. No rush to drink.

July 30, 2019 - My first bottle of Las Beatas and will not be the last. Unlike any other Rioja I ever tasted. Bright, dark violet colour. Blackberry and raspberry fruit, herbal and mineral notes. Touch of oak noted but not distracting. Palate is silky, akin to aged Burgundy, balanced, structured and persistent. Not sure where the tannins are hiding. They must be really fine.

July 28, 2018 - Bright red fruit; Tastes modern; Slight tart cherry; Nose picks up significantly after 2 hours

    July 28, 2018 - tasted blind.
dark violet color with hint of ruby.
Nose dark fruited with olive note, some wildness.
Palate juicy, kirsch, silky body; hint of cola and brine; spicy on finish. Initially somewhat monolithic, with time and at cellar temperature, more open. Hold for now, I think, but clearly has stuffing and potential. 93 pts

October 10, 2016 - On the nose floral notes, ripe and concentrated fruit. Spices, hints of smoky oak. Very soft with lots of depth. Medium bodied, juicy with a ripe tannic frame. Lovely fruit, very balanced, super persistent. Delicious already, but likely to improve. 93-94+
