June 11, 2020 - About 2 hours of air. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, purple colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of red florals, stony minerality, sea-salt, garrigue, dark red cherries, hint of barnyard earth. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.1%), silky smooth medium tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet dark red cherries, black cherries, sweet and salty earth, saline stones minerality, thin layer of meat. Long finish.
Very good quality. Wooo nice my first experience with cool climate lighter style Tannat. Still feels like it could develop a bit more over the next 3 years. Very drinkable now already also.
    20% whole cluster fermentation.

October 3, 2017 - Extremely juicy, black cherry flavor. Good acid. Interesting smoky/herbal nose. Looking back at my earlier note from February, can say the fruit has really developed, and pushed the herbs/eucalyptus into the background where they add interest - a definite improvement.

April 15, 2017 - Bright, full of red fruit and not nearly as tannic as I expected. It's reasonably refreshing, but gets a bit sour on the finish without additional layers of flavor to buffer the sourness. My reaction was about the same as I have had to other Cruse red wines, puzzlement. I love what Michael Cruse is doing with his Ultramarine sparkling program, but I do not get his still wines. Is it just me?

February 9, 2017 - Very herbal almost medicinal nose - eucalyptus, some garrigue.
No fruit flavors to speak of. Earthy with a long herbal finish. Good acidity.
Unlike any iteration of the grape I've ever tried before. Low tannin, easy drinking.
Can't say I love it, but it was interesting.
