October 16, 2020 - Screw cap so still quite young. This didn't really open up until 4 or 5 hours. I would recommend giving this 4 hours minimum in the decanter before serving otherwise people may turn their nose up at it.
Nose of rose petals, blueberries and mint. Mouth still quite tannic. Well balanced, substantial - extracted cassis, beef broth and washed rind cheese. Great with steak.
Good medium length finish with dried berries, wood, tomato leaves, slight bell peppers with excellent acid.
Absolutely no sediment so unlikely to develop major tertiary flavors. That being said, there's enough body and with screw cap should still delight for years to come.

August 30, 2020 - Hoped for a bit more here, Day 1 very salty/earthy and not a lot of fruit. Day 2 the dark fruits became present with added balsamic and bell pepper notes. A bit brutish on the attack, perhaps a couple more years tames down this bird.

July 27, 2019 - solid dark fruit and garrigue; a bit of bell pepper and black tea; more wood influence than i prefer, which makes this a bit ponderous; likely more suited to meat than my pasta with red sauce.

March 18, 2019 - Simple Australian Cabernet. A touch of mint and eucalyptus, a little sweet. Drinks okay with food now.

July 26, 2018 - Black cherry, cassis, briar, and cinnamon. While the heat pokes through (15% abv), overall the density of flavor and tannin hold up quite well to this broad shouldered wines. Solid and enjoyable.

April 7, 2018 - Some dark fruit on the nose along with some rich earthy aromas and a hint of camphor. Dark fruits on the palate as well give a brooding character with heft and weight. Tannins on the finish are fresh and dry and while the wine doesn’t come up really rounded fruit wise, it’s structure is solid and it fits more the classic Cabernet profile than many of its compatriots And at $17, its very good QPR, and most will be hard pressed to match that value with this varietal anywhere.
