October 4, 2020 - 45 mins in decanter. leathery and dark. Stains the palate, yet its lighter in body and doesn't leave weight on the palate. There is a xmas spice element. There's an umami note, it's savory and rich. Tannins are fine and integrated. Drinking well.

September 7, 2020 - Fresh, lifted. Nose and palate are red fruited: raspberry, a bit of strawberry, hard candy, but with time on the glass some of the darker, blackberry notes come out too. The most intriguing component is savory: a rich licorice, especially on the nose, and especially on pour. The finish is marked by baking spices: cinnamon and clove. The tannins are fine, and impart a bit of black tea on the finish. It's a lighter bodied wine, but fills out very nicely in the glass, elegant and fresh. Delicious and somehow refreshing too. Drinking very well now, but I think this will age very nicely.

April 27, 2020 - Greatly enjoyed, still light+, part of why I love D&R Mourvèdre. Primary as well as some secondary notes starting to shine through. Agree with GRAFSTRB on the nose: tart, loads of cinnamon, red fruits (raspberry, cherry), watermelon. Taste rocks, cedar, spices, and pepper. Color noticeably more garnet than the younger Antle/Rodnick wines but similar (albeit lighter?) to 2014 DRE (Dirty, Rowdy and Enfield) Mourvèdre/Pinot Noir blend. Overall, somewhere in between a young Antle/Rodnick and, surprisingly, a 30 year old Bordeaux (definitely more fruit though); shockingly closer to the Bordeaux than I would have expected. Let me caveat, limited experience with Mourvèdre with some age on them. Used Coravin. On 2nd night, glass with less air better than glass with 100 minutes of air. Definitely has life ahead of it but in a great place. 12.9% alcohol, which is always appreciated. So good.
