December 12, 2018 - Brought to the Zatzman's to share as their dinner guests. Dark in color for Sangiovese - a semi-opaque magenta, right up to the edge. Pretty scents of crushed dark berries, Tuscan earth and spice fill the glass. Medium-to-full bodied, offering a tangy mouthful of bing cherry and blackberry fruit backed by a lively, yet pleasant acidity. Shows wonderful depth and focus, but still seemed a bit restrained. Finishes long and fresh, with plenty of juicy, delicious fruit, hints of spice, tar and mineral, along with grippy, mouth-puckering tannins. There is a lot of structure to this beauty. Can't wait to re-visit in another couple of years, once it has loosened up completely and softened a bit. 92++

October 15, 2018 - What a joyful little bottle of darkness. This wine is nearly opaque, and generously aromatic. Worked better in a zalto burgundy stem than a riedel cab. The nose is really special - cardamom, hint of anise, wet slate, and dark fruit. Blind, the nose puts me in priorat, but the palate presence with bright juicy acidity and stern tannins tether us in Italy. Still a long time left for tannic resolution but all the other component parts are fairly harmonious.

    May 19, 2018 - Delicious as usual

April 16, 2018 - A lovely purity of terroir sings through the dark sour cherries, smoke, gravel, leather, dirty chocolate and violet flowers. Beautiful middle weight mouth feel and persistent finish. Much better on the second day. Delicious and deeply flavored now but will improve, soften and integrate with more time.

February 22, 2018 - Medium-dark ruby color. The nose on this is very Bordelais, with abundant earthy aromas of soil and tobacco balanced against luscious black fruit. The palate starts gently, with more black fruit flavors, before becoming shot through with a very pointed minerality. This stoniness lingers through the finish, which echoes the tobacco note of the nose along with some more dirty sous bois flavors. Enjoyable with a bit of decanting, this is excellent already and has the stuffing and structure to age for another decade. Another prodigious 2010 from Tuscany!
