April 21, 2024 - Opened and decanted 1.5 hours ahead of seared filet, roasted potatoes, and grilled zucchini in olive oil. Was reductive on opening but the nose eventually blossomed into a lovely floral array of cherry blossoms, potpourri, red roses, crushed gravel, and mint. The palate is medium-full, round, silky, and voluptuous, bringing blackberries, blueberries, and cherries, followed by scattered coffee, tobacco, eucalyptus, leather, and that orange peel note into a refined finish. Much improved over our last tasting a few years ago, as this has retained its outstanding acidity and refined tannins yet developed more fruit and freshness on the palate. Drink 2024-2030. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

July 6, 2023 - Excellent wine. First impression was good after popping the cork. Smooth and full of complex flavors - dark fruits and tannins. After decant everything was balanced. Wish I had more!

September 10, 2022 - This is too young to drink...closes down pretty fast.

August 10, 2022 - Decanted for an hour plus. Nicely balanced with a hint of cinnamon spice on the front end along with blue fruits that covered the palate. Medium body and medium length finish, displaying Spring Mountain District fruit throughout. Drink now or enjoy over the next three to five years.

June 21, 2022 - Opened and decanted an hour ahead of seared NY Strip off the grill. Dark crimson color. The floral nose brings cherry blossoms, spring violets, blackberry jam, and some hints of herbs and spices. The palate is medium, round, compact, and juicy, bringing a large red core of red cherries, raspberries, and pomegranate encased in plums, blueberries, and fresh blackberries, followed by lingering tobacco, eucalyptus, and orange peel into a smooth, refined finish. This is the definition of an elegant, old-school Napa Cab, and should reward another 10+ years of aging. Drink 2022-2032+. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

October 4, 2021 - This is probably my most favorite second label. Togni wines are better consumed after some time in the bottle (ideally +5 years). Decanted for 2 hours and was drinking well, but was really shining on day 2. I will wait a couple years before opening another one.

February 7, 2021 - Nose of purple fruits and cedar. On the palate, red fruits, cassis, cedar and some balsa wood. Medium bodies with nice acidity; tannins are fine grained and add some interest. With air a pleasant green herbal note appears, that seems most prominent on the finish. Drinking well today, but would benefit from more time. Better in 5 years.

This second wine is more enjoyable for my palate than most Napa Cabs at twice the price. A good food wine and a great QPR for a mountain Cabernet.

January 18, 2020 - Beautiful Napa Cab that presents more like a classic Bordeaux. Understated elegance. Silky smooth mouthfeel with smooth tannins that follow during lengthy finish. Second label - no way! This is an amazing wine with a great QPR. I decanted for 3 hours. Opened up slowly. It shows potential to age for another 10 to 15 years.

December 1, 2019 - Awesome Napa can at this price point. Shows well, but still pretty wound up. Fine red fruits, quit herbal with a clear leafy edge to the cab. Big plus in my opinion. Holds the finish well. Minimal oak influence to my palate. Probably has upside but delicious now. Fine polished tanning back bone is there. Best with food if drinking now.

May 29, 2019 - This is one of the great value wines coming out of Napa. It is exactly what it should be and I've never had a bad bottle - nor one with a lot of bottle age but my assumption is this wine would last you 10-15 years.
