Community Tasting Notes 10

November 23, 2022 - A little bit of funk on the nose upfront, possibly a bit oxidative, creating a bit of nuttiness behind the aromas of lemon, mineral, green apple and honeysuckle.

Mineral first on the palate, nickels and lemon rinds in the mouth. Just a fun and funky Riesling. Probably not even at the beginning of its prime drinking window.
Hold and check back in 2025 or later…

May 18, 2021 - Fine, clean, pristine Mosel nose. Beginning to show some devt. but still young.
Fine, perfumed/aromatic Mosel. Acid still predominant. Elegant more than rich. Quality.
A joy to try. Leave the other bottle for at least another 5 years. May well live for 20.

Petrol first and foremost on the nose, followed by a mineral note and lean citrus.

The palate is a little rounder than the nose suggests. There are flavors of apricot, bitter lemon peel, and apple skins then the acid pulls through on the finish, reminiscent of sour lemon head candies.

Day two is nearly identical in composition, if anything the leanness of the wine is accentuated.

Dry, lean and penetrating with a lingering mineral and lemon head finish this wine is both ready to drink and able to age.

It will be interesting to see where this wine goes over the next 5+ years.

April 17, 2019 - Stor kompleksitet til pengene. Balance i syre, fylde, frugt og mineralitet. Syren isaer paa efterkant. Meget fin!

November 7, 2017 - Screwcap. Darker, more golden-orange colour than I expected. Looked sharp and visciously tangy upon opening, took an hour to really show itself. Smells peachy and flinty, quite mineral and with flecks of orange zest and elderflower. Some oxidative, nutty tones too. A bit going on. Quite mouthfilling and round on the palate, but tart with strong, linear acid. Fans out across the palate and fades out over 30 seconds. Pretty great value really. Top quality.
