September 27, 2023 - Pristine bottle despite a 7 hour flight ahead of a dinner where the wine showed really well. Ruby red color, dark red berries, cherries and plums, some gaminess and spices. Very well structured, superb balance like an evolved Burgundy grand cru, finishes long with sweet tannins. Delicious and one of the best Musars I have had alongside the 1960 and 1977.

June 24, 2023 - BBQ late Jun 2023: cork crumbled upon opening, wine filtrated into a carafe; dark purple tawny color; unluckily the wine showed defective aromas in the nose and defective flavors on the palate; tasted again 5 and further 24 hours after opening: no improvement.

February 15, 2020 - Well kept Musar for a post birthday treat. Tannins have been polished down leaving elegance and silk to the texture. Leather and animalistic aromas on the top with red ripe berries and raisins underneath. It follows a great feeling of respect to the winemakers when contemplating the fact that this wine was made during tough conditions under the civil war.

October 3, 2016 - Beautifully mature with a firm spine that supports all that beef-stock and cherry Musar fruit. A slight metallic tang on the finish which is surprisingly pleasant - a great Musar.

October 2, 2016 - Medium light body and bricked pretty much all through the wine. Benefitted from a bit of air, silky smooth, plenty of acidity , red fruits and exotic spices. Very good indeed.

March 15, 2016 - Stunning absolutely amazing. Earthy barnyard funk with beautiful tar and red berries, Silky and Rich. Structure and elegant. Nothing stands out here except perfect harmony. Super long finish with plumb, brine and leather. Breathtaking.

April 2, 2013 - Lightish brick red colour with orange rim. Bouquet quite delicate and ethereal with Rhonish aromas. Rhone flavours dominate the palate with red cherry fruit, perfect acidity and well balanced finish. A lovely wine - still has a few years left.

January 1, 2011 - what a great nose. i was so excited. however the wine tasted off. it was highly acidic and tart. nothing more. i was nervous when i pulled the cork because it looked like it was soaked through, though there was no seepage. oh well worth the shot.
