June 28, 2020 - Named for the notorious “hanging” Judge Bell, who presided over the nearby town of Plymouth during its Gold Rush heyday. Vines were planted in 1907.
    Decanted
Aromas show classic aromas of strawberry preserve, pomegranate syrup and cassis show well with rustic notes of mountain sage, eucalyptus, white pepper, bramble and rock.
On the palate this wine displays rustic tannins, pure fruit, juicy acidity and density from start to finish. Flavors show suave notes of strawberry jam, pomegranate reduction, cassis that come intertwined in notes of briar patch, sage, eucalyptus, spice and rocky earth. The finish lingers with rustic elegance.

May 16, 2020 - One of the better Turley's. I thought I pulled out a juvenile and checked the label after the second sip. Guess that's a pleasant surprise. Not so much for the eyesight. Holds its own with wines from more prestigious counties.

February 8, 2020 - Turley makes good Zinfandels and this is one of them. Bold and yet smooth, cherry and raspberry, blackberries and blueberries, pepper notes but not too much, baking spice. Still going strong for a 2014

February 8, 2020 - This hides the 15.5% ABV well. Easy drinking on a lazy Saturday night picking on various apps because we had big lunch and didn’t feel like cooking a big meal.

December 17, 2019 - Turley's 2014 Judge Bell Zinfandel is a deep ruby wine that is packed with dark bramble fruits, white pepper, menthol and orange zest. Full-bodied, fresh, flavor-filled yet showing no hint of heat from its 15.5% alcohol, this is an impressive Zin that delivers the goods in a milieu of plentiful sweet tannins. Larry Turley and Tegan Passalacqua are amazingly skillful in their handling of this varietal. Drink now-2024.
