Community Tasting Notes 4

  • cogo44 Likes this wine:

September 6, 2022 - Deep red/purple colour with a distinctive menthol and mint character evident on the nose. The palate is typically full of mint and chocolate. The tannins are well supported by an acid spine but the finish is rather short and lacks elegance. The Shiraz from the same vintage is a better wine.

    August 7, 2018 - 13.4% ABV

Haven't had one of these in a while, one of Dad's Fav's..

Blackberry, plum, tobacco, dusty earthiness, violets, anise and chocolaty mocca tannins...

Drinking really nicely now and for the next 10 years, if not for the cork maybe more depending how you like it..

    Great Stuff..

May 6, 2018 - Redman Cellar Door (Coonawarra): Minty, tart, chalky; not very exciting.

January 26, 2018 - Clear dark purple/garnet. Nose is clean and medium. Dusty roses, black berries, liquorice, pepper, cedar, tobacco, slight vegetal undergrowth. Dry with medium (+) acidity. Medium (+) tannins. Body is medium (+). Flavour is full and palate has blackberries, meaty, spices, earthy notes. Finish is medium (+). Could have easily passed off as a right bank aged St Emilion.
