January 10, 2023 - BTG restaurant purchase on draft. Medium bodied, flavorful, and well balanced. Nothing unique but hit the spot with a burger.

July 14, 2020 - Medium bodied, very smooth, showing balanced hoppy bitterness with a tiny hint of fruity sweetness. Overall very poised and refreshing. Good basic lager.

October 20, 2018 - Lots and lots of floral notes upon opening, floral notes continue on the palate accompanied by a refreshing bitterness.

August 25, 2016 - According to the label, this lager is a direct descendant of the pre-prohibition favo(u)rite Vienna lager style, displaying a firm malt center, supported by refreshing bitterness and a floral, dry-hopped aroma. I guess that sums it up very nicely. Back in the hotel after my first visit to Brooklyn.

May 23, 2013 - Orange to copper color, slightly hazy, quite small but rather persistent white head. Slightly restrained, but positively quite hop-forward nose with aromas of fragrant florals, citrus fruits, some caramel malt and a hint of tropical fruits. The nose is atypically aromatic and attractive for a lager. On the palate the beer is light, dry, crisp and refreshing with flavors of caramel malt, pithy grapefruit, some grass and a light floral notes. Very fine and generous carbonation. Hop bitterness is on par with the most bitter examples of pilsners, nicely balancing out the sweetness from the caramel malt. The finish is light, moderately bitter and really refreshing with flavors of peppery spice, some soapy hop bitterness and hints of caramel.

A terrific, sessionable American lager that nods towards the darker and malt-forward Viennese style. Although the beer is quite powerful with pronounced malt character, it still keeps its refreshing character after several bottles. Terrific on its own and eaasy to pair with a really wide variety of different dishes. A lot more interesting than many pale ales and amber ales in the same price point, probably the best American lager I've tasted. Delightful stuff and great value at 3,01€ for a 355 ml bottle.
