Community Tasting Notes 7

July 27, 2019 - A little more heft and texture here then an excellent 05 Dampt Chablis that preceded it. This is all about yellow apples and a fairly rich and round texture true to the 02 vintage. Tasty

February 16, 2016 - Honey, lanolin, nuts, limestone, melon. Very full, but not heavy. Very nice.

May 7, 2011 - Utterly delightful; Whereas the 2002 Dauvissat La Foret was reticent and perhaps not yet ready for prime time, this wine loved its moment in the spotlight. Immediately accessible aromatically, the trademark Meo-Camuzet richness revealed itself at once as generous white nutmeat, filbert, and white acacia flower aromas. The integration of flavors here is impressive, as the hefty minerality and touch of wood deftly offset white floral and rich nutty flavors in a seamless whole. Yet nothing steals the spotlight or sings too loudly in the chorus, and the wonderful succulent flavors gain amplitude but never become outsized or ungainly. Just a pitch-perfect white Burgundy interviewed at a lovely point in its development; nothing tired or fading here, nor overly embryonic, but clearly at the beginning of its best days. Wondrous fare.

August 12, 2008 - Undoubtedly mineral in style, but with a corton esq honeyed fatness in the core, medium length and easy to drink

March 19, 2007 - Much more mineral than the last bottle. Very fresh - like a citrus and limestone bath. Not super concentrated, just super delicious! Could only come from the motherland.....

(Méo-Camuzet Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Clos St. Philibert) The subdued nose starts with a waxy melon note with a faint citrus edge and proceeds to offer a deeper honey note that gains strength with time. Dry, good/good-plus length. Not fat, but rather slender and elegant is a good description. Lovely acidity. Though not overtly fruity, this wine shows a very pleasing (to my palate) crisply mineral style.
