December 25, 2015 - On the edge of drink ability. Good but not whoI expected for a Cabernet of this pedigree and age.
December 14, 2015 - Better than expected.
October 15, 2015 - Last bottle, drinking well
April 8, 2015 - Does not need much to e to breath
November 23, 2014 - Doubt it will improve from here. Drank out of the bottle, seemed to fade after any hour.
May 19, 2012 - Very nice dark cherry, mint and currant on the nose. A bit of the same on the palate with a long finish. Very nice balance. I would say if you have them drink up. Not going to get better.
August 13, 2011 - This was disappointing. Dark and massive on the palate. One dimensional on the palate with way too much oak. Someone told me these wines age well, I disagree.
December 3, 2010 - Popped and poured with John Rueff tonight at Dish in Red Bank. Gorgeous dark garnet color in the glass. The nose was a bit subdued, but had everthing to do with the stems at Dish. Some black currants, black cherry, boysenberry, spice and just a hint of soy. On the palate, tons of of dark fruits. More black cherry, jammy raspberry and blackberry that were perfectly ripe, and not overly ripe in the least. Tannins were nicely integrated, and there was no alcohol whatsover. This can probably get better with time, but why wait? This is drinking nicely right now. Quite a bit of sediment in the final pour, but no worries. Maybe decant for sediment if you have one. Overall, a great wine that paired nicely with short ribs! Cheers!
December 15, 2009 - Not blown away here. Just pretty good. Not bad, but not good for this price point.
September 4, 2009 - Wow! Loads of black fruit on the nose: mulberries, blueberries etc... Absolutely no hints of oak. The palate is just as polished. The initial fruit gives way to a slightly meaty taste. Very fine, integrated tannins bring about a long finish of blueberries. Paired tremendously with a rib eye. This is a beautiful bottle of wine.
