April 19, 2024 - Absolute stunner. This is open for business after a couple hours. There is modernity here, but it's appreciated by me given all the earthiness and herbal spice. Best bottle to date for me. I just love this wine.

April 6, 2024 - Prime drinking window. Well balanced and not over extracted. Excellent fruit and fully resolved tannins.

March 30, 2024 - Seems like it is coming into its own. Good fruit, with notes of strawberry

March 7, 2024 - Rhône or Nôwhere 2.0 (Malcolm, NE): Oh yes…gimme all them funky cherries and all dat black licorice. There were also Ferrara Red Hots®️and a generous hit of black pepper. I simply adore Pegau; for all of its unapologetic character and authenticity. This 2015 brought the business tonight and was smashing with cassoulet, Toulouse sausage and duck confit. Merci Charlie!

March 5, 2024 - Decanted and drank over two days. Last drank this a little over a year ago. This bottle is the nicest I've had - the slightly bitter end is gone. Black fruit and some tar on the nose, white pepper black and blue fruit on the palate, nuanced taste. Medium tannin. This has evolved over the last year or so. I will wait another year for the next bottle. Best after 4 hours on day-1, diminishes slightly by day-2, but still good.

February 16, 2024 - 1 hour decant. Given the reviews (and price), I was disappointed. Certainly, this is a minority take but the wine wasn't overly expressive and had an slightly unpleasant finish - although it resolved somewhat over the evening and on Day 2. I'm hoping the next 2 bottles show closer to the high scores.

February 3, 2024 - Pale ruby in glass with garnet hues. Medium plus intensity on the nose. Ripe figs, boysenberry, cinnamon and garrigue. Medium acidity and medium plus tannins that have been resolved. Well balanced for the warm vintage. Lingering finish.

December 30, 2023 - Powerful and complex. Dark ruby color. Aromas of bramble berries, violets, lavender and fresh thyme. The palate is full of cherry/bramble berry/fig fruit with hints of smoked meat, baking spices, tobacco, black olives and tar. Tannins have softened beautifully. Concentrated and wonderfully balanced. Excellent!

December 28, 2023 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, tart red cherry, fig, black tea, anise and dried herbs. Blackberry, tart cherry, black tea, anise, fig, dried herbs and forest floor on the palate. Very long finish. Medium to full bodied. Served with apple smoked turkey and corn bread, sausage dressing.

December 17, 2023 - Due to others who recently tried this wine, I opened one with a three hour decant. Lighter weight than the 2008 or 09, but distinctive Pegu. Back end was green pepperish which was disappointing. Am hoping this fades with time or perhaps I do let it decant as long.
