March 19, 2019 - Tasted side by side with the '15 Paris Geynale - this wine seems more like young Cornas to me. Dark berries, great spine of acidity here and lots of grippy tannins - savory grilled meat notes and some florals lurk in the background. This is going to need quite a bit of time to come around - but great structure - hold

March 19, 2019 - Revenge of the Cornas (Michaeangelo Hotel): Again this is a really lovely wine. Here more purple flowers (I get violets although others were getting lavender). Lots of dark fruits. Just this touch of sweet but in that perfectly ripe and not over ripe way. There are still the more drying tannin, but it is a very young wine. Quite enjoyable though.

March 9, 2019 - Crazy delicious Cornas. Full display of brooding notes and aromatics, yet incredibly restrained in youth. So tannic that after about a glass, the wine couldn’t be enjoyed like it was earlier.

This will be an absolute killer wine down the line (aka at least a decade or two). Problem is— the wait time will be ridiculous for a wine of this level.

December 15, 2018 - This is a lovely young Cornas, dark purple with a nose of blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, hints of savory meat, a whiff of pepper, violet, and just a touch of stone. very primary on the nose as you would expect. The palate is a nice combination of power and elegance; it is certainly a big wine, but the tannins are suave and not raspy, the density of the fruit and the acidity give a nice balance and it almost feels elegant. Should develop quite nicely.

October 27, 2018 - 2015 Northern Rhones Blind: Single blind. Always tough to be the opening wine in a large blind line up. The nose has everything you'd want with its florals, pepper and polished black fruit. Perhaps a bit of heat in the aromatics too. The fruit here is quite concentrated and starts showing some polish, but than the tannins kick in and show their grittiness. Overall comes across as quite young and brooding (as opposed to more lush bottles I had ~10-12 months ago). I like the potential here. 2-3 points of upside.

Night 2 update: Aromatically a bit quiet and less interesting. Palate is reasonably consistent with loads of structure on the back end.
