February 23, 2020 - The first glass had an interesting mix of fruit. I tasted dark red cherry, along with blackberry and some cranberry. The finish had a significant amount of dusty tannins, along with tastes of cocoa, espresso and flint. There wasn't enough acidity yet for this wine to be top notch. I understand comments from other tasters of the flavors being a bit restrained - the flavor was nice and food friendly, but didn't initially blow me away.

After the wine was open a few hours, the fruit profile became dominated by strong, tart red fruit. The acidity was nice. The finish was still dusty, but overall the wine was well balanced.

If you enjoy wines with dusty tannins, you'll really like this wine.

September 20, 2019 - After a (too short) 1 hr. decant: Great potential there, still very young, in it's reductive phase now. Will probably have a drinking windows between 6-10+ years after harvest. So, let's be patient! I'll try it again at the end of 2021 (...).

November 30, 2017 - Grand Cercle wines: Mainly 2015 just bottled (Chateau de Pressac Saint Emilion): Same team that made the impressive Château de Chambrun also crafts this wine. Very pretty. It has 14.5% alcohol but comes across balanced with substance and structure. Just joined the Grand Cercle in November 2017. Bravo!
