February 18, 2022 - Opened, poured and let sit about 10 min. Then: Good oaky-chard nose; somewhat oaky taste, with a bit of sharpness. After about 15 min the sharpness disappeared and it became just an oaky chard, reasonably balanced, nice mouthfeel, oaky finish. Pretty one-dimensional, but tasty - if you like an oaky chard. Probably on the downside, so drink up.

October 3, 2021 - Vinetasters: 2001 Châteauneuf-du-Pape et al. (Skokie, IL): Served double blind. Clearly California chardonnay. Buttery, extraordinarily oaky, and bitter on the palate. No acidity. Oily and thick with some butterscotch and popcorn on the palate as well. Mercifully not too much alcohol, but just not good.

August 22, 2021 - Opened, poured and took a small sip: Nose and taste seemed almost a bit reductive/oaky, so I let it sit for about 20 min. Then: Still a bit oaky/reductive, although not unpleasant if you like oaky chards. Over the next 45 min it mellows out a bit and more chard flavors come through; but it still retains something of that oaky/reductive taste on the finish. Maybe a slightly off bottle as this isn't the usual style for Alyce.

April 22, 2021 - I have always like this cuvée but the extra time really brought about its virtues. No notes taken but I enjoyed this bottle

February 9, 2021 - Nice but not as good as before. I noticed some oxidation but not the others in the group. Drink up.
