May 9, 2018 - I just Had to open and sample tonight given my tasting of the greatest Napa chard I have ever had. Tonight I opened one of the 2 remaining Marcassin Vineyard Chardonnays I have and I sampled this after that wine.

That said ... boy does this Tor hold up well. More minerally and more acidic than the 'Marcassin. I almost found this wine unbalanced compared to the Marcassin but then I waited 30 minutes and this wine really did change and deliver. Bravo to Tor ! Up against the greatest it can still hold its own.

Creamy texture with peach and apricot up front notes. Mid palette of toast cracker and yet the wine reveals tropical fruits. Quite a task and worthy of finding.

November 19, 2017 - Rich, bold Chardonnay with big flavors of toasted oak, hazelnut, lemon meringue pie, and a sanguine oyster shell lingering finish that goes on for 30 seconds. That says a lot for a California Chardonnay.

August 27, 2016 - Tor Kenward Premier Tasting Event at Meadowood (Meadowood Resort, Napa): Reminding me of an elevated version of the 2015 Tor Hyde Chardonnay, the Torchiana had a nice pop of minerality and salinity to frame the yellow citrus, lemon, white peach, and some oaky vanillin flavors. The Torchiana was the best of the four Chardonnays tasted at the event, showing the most promise in the coming year or so.

Flavors skipped nicely across the palate; mid-palate came off the most complete of Tor's 2015 whites. Still not earth-shattering or incredibly intense, but certainly a well crafted Chardonnay.

91-92+ points for now, with potentially an additional point or two after 12+ months in bottle.
