January 6, 2022 - Classic Esquisto nose, very spicy (peppery) and savory. Red-fruited, elegant, with a subtle grenache sweetness that only comes out as it warms. Compared to the prior vintages, which I also loved, this is significantly more spicy and savory, presumably from stem inclusion. Should become even better with more age.

July 21, 2021 - Decanted for 90 mins (which helped enormously). Drinking beautifully after ample air contact. Violets, lavender, rose petal, strawberry, Asian spices, pepper. Should drink well for several more yrs. Excellent structure (both tannins and acid). Superb QPR.

March 26, 2021 - Powerhouse. Very complex and changed notably throughout the evening. Very floral, lavender and rose petals, red fruits, granite, bittersweet chocolate, and cloves. Still pretty tight and loads of structure; another year or two should be perfect.

September 8, 2020 - This changed a lot. The first couple nights I was struggling a bit. Nice herbal complexity on the nose. The palate was a bit tart with thick glycerin. Nice basic Rhone there. Interesting nose. But not really coming together. I was guessing maybe this was held too long but only five years didn't jive. Third night though, the sweet fruit came alive. This really took off, especially on the nose. The complexity remained lending a lot to the fruit. Consistent into the fourth night also. That fruit also picks up some weight on the palate. I was ready to go ahead and pull the trigger on my '16's but now I'm not so sure. I kinda wished I had waited another year or two now but luckily my curious side made me hold on to this for an extended go. It's like a nice marriage of CA and S Rhone.

March 25, 2020 - Drank on a boat with pizza, so no detailed notes. But it was delicious and enjoyed by all.
