April 4, 2023 - Time to enjoy this. Quite soft and supple. Age won’t help. Not much acidity.
January 19, 2023 - Wow!!! opened by accident. Thought it was a less expensive bottle. Nice surprise Beautiful wine. Tastes great. Ready to drink. Really big wine with a soft finish. At first you are overwhelmed by the fruit. Same experience (but not taste) as eating a perfectly ripe tomato or peach. Then you taste notes of menthol, currant and a real pleasant finish
December 15, 2022 - The last one of these in my cellar and a nice finale to this wine. Solid and consistent. Nice oak presence with fruit fully integrated into the wine and no longer in the forefront. Alcohol had subsided and was steady from beginning to end. I really don't know how this wine would have developed with additional time. I do not that there are many that absolutely love it based on their tasting notes. I thought this was solid.
August 9, 2022 - This is the best wine I have had from the 2014 vintage. Had it with a 2016 Odette and it held its ground against the Odette. I typically hate the 14 vintage but this wine was terrific. Will def seek out more it.
June 17, 2022 - Deep purple. Blueberry crumble pie, hot honey, pepperoni, thick summer air. Rich mouthfeel supported by gentle tannins.
April 8, 2022 - Decanted for approximately an hour. What a beauty. Deep, dark opaque purple. A nose of blackberry jam, spice and vanilla with a kiss of oak. A full bodied big wine. Nice texture and mouthfeel but a bit lacking on the finish. Well balanced but could use a bit more time to round out further. Not quite ready for prime time or would have garnered another point or two. Sam liked this wine. This could pick up a couple of points with a bit more age. Hold.
February 21, 2022 - A very well balance wine. Full bodied. Aromas are fruit forward with tree fruit like black plumb and cherry. Believe it or not, I get buttered popcorn and a vegetal component like celery, maybe green pepper and pie crust. A full bodied, balanced wine. It's opaque, dark garnet color with nice legs. Medium+ sweet tannins, Medium+ acidity. Well balanced with the alcohol and enjoyable to drink with or without food. Although this is drinking very well now. It will likely continue to improve over the next two to four years.
November 23, 2021 - Nose floral, with dusty fruit, big red fruit, with earthy notes, finish long, lightly sweet cherry and tannins that carry through. Had with in bone ribeye steaks, grilled to medium rare, baby potatoes, candy mushrooms and sugar snap peas, perfect match
October 3, 2021 - Notes of cherry, nori, some oak. Nice drink and muscular. Will be better with time.
*3rd night open drinking very nice and has opened up magnificently. Beautiful nose, still quite young but showing well! Seems like it has become more jammy. Really shinning bottle.
August 8, 2021 - 3.5 hr decant, jammy and hit the spot.
