March 28, 2023 - Most people’s favorite amongst a large panel of 2013 Spaetburgunder GGs. Incredible concentration and purity Fantastic aromatic complexity with red fruit and menthol aroma, some notes of black pepper. Long savory trace. Grand Vin. This one worked very hard to achieve its goal of being one of Germanys most impressive Pinots. Drink or hold.

June 6, 2018 - Wednesday wine night at ES BK. Pop and poured. Gone in 30mins+.
Wrongly popped this bottle without closely looking at the label. Mistook this for a Riesling GG.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of sweet pretty garden flowers, sweet earth, bright red cherries, brambly strawberries, sweet candy licorice. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), silky medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of bright red cherries, sweet raspberries, brambly strawberries, sweet candied red licorice. Long finish.
Very good quality. Very pretty and feminine and packed with lots of red fruit substance just calling out for more age development. Enjoyable, but just felt like such a waste not to be ageing this more.

February 13, 2017 - VDP- Tour Grosse Lage 2017 (Hotel Atlantic, Hamburg): A very feminine Spätburgunder, subdued still, lightbodied, some silky cherry, very harmonic though, this sample is all about finesse and elegance, needs more time, for the next 5-10+ years, **(**), 90-93

September 3, 2016 - Tasted after the lovely 2011 Rebholz Im Sonnenschein GG, this comes across a little less delicate, lifted and complex. Darker fruit, again earth and spices on the nose. Good tannic grip, fine fruit and length, but a little angular. Needs time. 90-91+(+?)
