September 27, 2023 - Consumed over 2 days (stored in Somm du Vin), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, mid transition from ruby to garnet with medium intensity and slight edge browning. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of dried cherry, cranberry, pine needles, white pepper, dust, and rose bush - very nice. Palate: Dry, medium acid, soft tannins are medium, medium body, medium intensity, 13.7% abv with flavors of cranberry and spice with a subtle medium+ finish.

    Balance: Excellent
    Length: Excellent
    Intensity: Very Good
    Complexity: Excellent

I found this to be kind of a heady wine, before concentrating on it to write this note I found it to be a relatively simple quaff. Upon examining, in detail, I found subtle complexities I hadn't noticed earlier. On appearance this is more advanced in age than on the palate. I would venture to guess this is still a year or two from peak and will likely drink well for 2-4 years beyond.

October 7, 2019 - Another delicious Sandler wine. Smooth easy drinker with good blackberry aromas and flavors.

September 23, 2019 - Another Sandler delivering the goods. Refined and smooth mouthfeel, yet still bright and lively with more than average depth to the flavors. Good complexity and nuance. Clean, medium length finish and the alcohol is virtually undetectable... what a concept ;)

March 22, 2019 - Light ruby color, slightly cloudy. Nose of red cherry, pomegranate and cranberry along with some sweet baking spices. Similar flavors on the palate. Medium acid and tannins. Drinks very smooth and perhaps a little soft but always a tasty pinot.

March 6, 2019 - Vivid dark crimson color. Nose red fruits almost plummy in its intensity, faint herbal notes. Palate very finessed red fruits with strong blackberry hints. Some mint before a strongly sappy intensity to the fruit takes hold mid-palate. Unmistakably new world in its fruity depth but very pleasurable balance of fruit and structural elements of acidity and faint earth. Great QPR. 91 pts
