September 27, 2020 - 3-5 more years may provide upside, but drinking well enough.
September 19, 2020 - This bottle was tough as nails, plenty of structure and sappy red fruit but its more closed up compared to my last bottle a year ago.
September 11, 2020 - elegance, juicy red fruit and spice..just wonderful
July 19, 2020 - Dry, charming, but still juicy, easy to drink, feminine and elegant, yet with hints of dark spice, tobacco, red berries. Ends with some tannins, still young. 90+
July 13, 2020 - Pale ruby with more than a touch of brick. Fairly mature looking, in fact.
Nose > Aromatic fresh red & wild cherry, cherry bark, sumac, menthol, strawberry, blackberry,
rose petal & a squeeze of orange.
Palate > Light-ish, but full flavored. Wild & red cherry, strawberry & spicy cherry bark.
Underpinned with touch of sumac, citrus, mint, menthol & rhubarb.
Light, but fresh, sappy, slightly grippy tannins bonded to the pretty, sappy cherry fruit. Very good acidity.
Doesn't show its 14.5% ABV.
A pretty, elegant beauty.
July 2, 2020 - 14.5% - Clear, med to light ruby / clean, med to pronounced intensity - cherry, bramble, dried flowers, tobacco leaf, eucalyptus / dry, med to high acidity, med+ tannin, med to full body, med+ intensity, long finish. Elegant and polished.
June 28, 2020 - Well made but less concentrated than other recent years. Cherry fruit, hints of mint/eucalyptus. Very powerful tannins and acidity—but there’s sensual fruit there, it just likes to hide in the structure. Needs some time to meld together. Best to hold.
June 1, 2020 - Well balanced, surprisingly dark, excellent fruit, lovely mouthfeel and a medium length clean finish. A very pleasant bottle with a meal, and once again batting well above its price point.
May 4, 2020 - Flavourful, intriguing in a light weight, firm frame. Youthful. It has a Nebbiolo floral character and a cleansing character to the tannin.
In 2014 Barbaresco was much more successful than Barolo.
April 20, 2020 - Very nice wine, especially at the price.
