March 9, 2023 - One of Seghesio's best Aglianico years. Very bold, in true Aglianico style, but well balanced. I've been drinking this wine since it was released and now down to my last 2 bottles. It still drinks beautifully. I may move one bottle to my cellar library and hold it for another 5 years to see how it tastes when it's 20 years old.

January 10, 2021 - Outstanding now no decant required. Inky dark and a mouthful of dried fruit with a long finish. Real beauty.

October 30, 2019 - One of Seghesio's best Aglianico years and one of the best Aglianicos I've tasted. The taste of this varietal can vary dramatically. Growing conditions as well as the winemaker's style make dramatic differences. I've had lighter ones, maybe like Seghesio's 2010, and I've had ones that kick like a mule (Seghesio's 2007). I've had ones that come out raisiny and frankly taste like cough syrup (VJB). This Seghesio vintage got blended with Zinfandel to make a vintage of Defiant. Delightful wine.

December 11, 2017 - Deep strong red wine. Tannin has softened and merged into the overall taste. Notes of plum or nectarine underneath but very mild. There is a slight bitter quality around the edges of the taste.

November 28, 2017 - A very pleasant surprise. Better than advertised.
