February 5, 2022 - This has clearly evolved over time and patience has paid off. Very well made, old world style. The fruit is ever present blended with notes of licorice, cacao, new leather, and supporting acidity. Long, peppery finish. At a great place now and probably time to drink up.
June 7, 2020 - Dark in color and no signs of age. Wonderful nose not overpowered by alchohol. Lots of fruit and tannins. Very enjoyable and rather easy to drink. Feels like it could age a lot longer as well but can be enjoyed now. A solid wine!
December 8, 2019 - Fruit driven, medium tannins, well integrated. Black currant, blackberries, dark fruit predominant, resolving to thyme and licorice in the mid palate. Pepper and spices on the finish. Drinking well now, but has many years ahead of it, and would probably improve with further aging. No rush on this one.
November 28, 2018 - The wine was impressive but the plum pit bitterness on the finish tells me more bottle time would help.
October 26, 2016 - The bottle was corked. Purchased @ Zachy's and they took no responsibility for the corked bottle.
October 18, 2016 - Saturated and impressive, but very tight. This needs a few more years.
