January 5, 2020 - 16.1% abv. 61% Grenache, 39% Syrah. Dark garnet color. Swirling nose of red fruits, red licorice, eucalyptus, spice cake. Med mouth feel, light acid, some tannins on back of mouth that fade after 20 sec. Lighter styled Rhône wine, Grenache dominates.

November 9, 2019 - Fragrant with black and red fruits, plum and violets. Rich and smooth. Full bodied with structure, balance and fine grained tannins. Long finish. Superb Paso Robles Rhone-style blend.

September 29, 2019 - 50/50 Grenache/Syrah. Strawberry, boysenberry, and black raspberry fruit. Notes of dried herbs, spice, crushed flowers, and red licorice. Beautiful balance albeit pretty tight right now with firm acidity and tannins on the long finish. Definitely needs to sit a few more years.

May 5, 2019 - Decanted for 5 hours but it took 7 to 8 to reach its stride. I had forgotten I had been wowed by this wine only a month ago. I obviously should have rated it more highly then. What was I thinking? According to data on the right, there remain 186 bottles of this marvel in this community's cellars, two of those being mine. There is no time like the present.

April 6, 2019 - Decanted for 7 hours prior to consumption. The cream of big Paso wines: amazing depth; seamless texture; solid structure; and an extended finish. Simply stated, Scott Hawley consistently crafts many of the areas finest wines.
