May 23, 2017 - Day 2 in Piedmont (Giacosa, Conterno, & Cavallotto) (Piedmont, Italy): Very tropical aromatics of pineapple, mango, & pears. The palate was sweet and sappy with medium-to-low acidity. Tasty, but not in my chardonnay sweet spot.

May 23, 2017 - Very well balanced Chardonnay. No oaky feelings, very crisp and dry. Will be better in the next years

September 30, 2016 - Piedmont Trip, Day 2- Gigi Rosso, Schiavenza, Cavallotto (Barolo, Piemont, Italy): Nose: There is a roundness to the nose with lemon curds, pears, red apples, white fruits, flint notes, and some white peaches. The nose is very much on the white spectrum.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity. The feel shows a roundness to it with lemon curds, red apples, flint notes, and white peaches. The acidity is refreshing, but slightly astringent.

Overall: This is a very good Chardonnay from the Laghe. It doesn't show too much winemaker intervention and has nice balance. There is a freshness to the tones with decent depth on the nose and palate.
