February 12, 2022 - Notes are very similar to tasting in 2019. The notable difference is that this wine has intensified. It seems considerably more integrated and nuanced now. Glad I held onto it for a while.

December 31, 2019 - We enjoyed this wine at NYE with a group of 10 friends. We enjoyed it alongside a 2015 Hoage syrah. I liked them both but for different qualities. The Hustler was wonderfully integrated, gave a lot of depth to go along with the black fruit and earthy flavors. The Hoage was much more dazzling with bright fruits and very lively on the tongue. The best part of enjoying the Hustler was the price I paid! Current pricing online suggests $100+. I paid exactly half that!! Win!

February 15, 2017 - Was curious where this wine was and have to say leave it alone for another year. Sure I can add 2-3 points when it balances out a bit.

January 6, 2017 - Nose: Post pour nose is very saline and musky. 2 minutes later, it is not over done and soft, but can be detected from a foot away, like a prom date.

Mouth Feel: Pleasant and expressing a full swarm menthol effect, then mellows and lingers for a long f’ing time people

Taste: Pungent, but done in milliseconds (aka, no tannins folks)

Flavor Profile: Mineral, bing cherry blood notes with distant rocks (aka Stonesessence)

Finish: Long and resembling of the 36 month aging
