December 23, 2019 - Brick reddish brown at the edges. The fruit has faded leaving the barnyard / earth notes more prominent on the nose. Tart red cherry, almost sour cherry, with herbal notes and hint of anise on the palate. Faded but still enjoyable for the holidays.

June 17, 2018 - While starting to fade, this is still in prime condition. Dark brooding scents of dark cherries and black current notes framed by tobacco scents. Medium finish. While it will last, it’s peak has past. Drink up. 92

January 1, 2014 - Needed a bit of time to sort itself out after opening (initially dirty/bretty nose).

Once it did settle down, the syrah part of the blend really came at the forefront. Pretty sweet, some earth and dark fruits. Held its own through the evening. Drink soon, though, as I can't see this wine improving.

June 13, 2012 - Needed to breathe in a decanter for a good 30' to "wake up". Still very deep in color at 20y of age. Nose was still a little tight, but classic Trevallon. Onctuous and vibrant on the palate. Well balanced, but now medium bodied. Held itself very well all the way.

October 25, 2011 - First young wine of the tating. Again I thought it was fine, but the consensus was that it was corked. Glad I;ve a hig tollerance to TCA as I would happily have drunk this.

July 25, 2008 - Saved this for many years for my Brother and well worth the wait; opened 1 hr in advance; decanted due to sediment; rich and wonderful with a filet mignon and fresh peas & NY cheeses.

May 9, 2008 - Domaine de Trevallon (Rouge) Offline (Alba, London): More red fruit and focused nose, hints of black olive then garrigue. Acidity to the fore. A little simple and short but still pretty decent. **1/2

September 23, 2006 - Another from Yapp's Bin End Sale.
After the disappointment of Jasmin 1982 I wasn't sure what to expect. Not decanted.
Deep red/purple colour not much sign of maturity. Wonderful nose of blackcurrants, smoke, and liquorice. Very smooth in the mouth, soft tannins just there giving backbone and lots of black fruits, pepper & spice.
Not as good as I recall the 1990 (last tasted 3 years ago) but still very good - Why did I only buy 1 bottle?
