Community Tasting Notes 5

July 25, 2023 - Decanted 3 hrs. Opaque and explosive nose of graphite, plums, and black tea. Full body, over ripe, huge finish. Too much of everything in a bottle including 18% alcohol. Wine is so dense that it muffles the high alcohol levels. My friends thought it was a new world wine.

September 22, 2017 - Plum, getting into raisin aromas. Lots of oak to the nose. Lots baking spice absorbed in really ripe fruit. Christmas cake on the palate. Lots of concentration. Lots of lots.

June 7, 2016 - Bodegas Juan Gil; 6/6/2016-6/10/2016 (Spain): barrel sample. Earth, herb, red and black concentrated fruit, spice aromas, sweeter fruit and coconut. Super suave palate. Not very smokey. 20m in barrel. 'Gamey' per Nat.
