October 9, 2022 - Concur with Amenenberg's excellent description, but would further qualify as intensely herbaceous. Suspect a healthy dose of whole-cluster fermentation. All that said, I want to rave about everything I'm finding present, but the wine ultimately goes hollow on the palate and thin on the finish.

November 2, 2020 - The nose is full of earthy goodness, driven by graphite, cola, violet, cherry, raspberry and cassis. Medium in stature with bright acid and long, smooth tannin, it develops some textural grip with time in the mouth completing an elegant Old World-style feel. The flavor profile includes plum sauce, crushed gravel, violet, cola and a small dose of soy sauce. Even for Oregon, this is unusually expressive of its site, and thankfully so. Drinking really well right now, I'm not sure it has much more development in the tank.

June 20, 2020 - Aroma of cherry bubblegum, red roses, over-ripe strawberries. Tasted of cherry, red raspberry, with earthy notes of weak coffee and black tea supporting the bright fruit. Nice tangy acidity. Hung in there spectacularly with hard and soft cheese, grilled bread, and spicy olives. It did benefit from some decanting to focus the flavors.

August 31, 2019 - Prior bottle was 10 and a half months ago and this wine continues to show quite well. A clear step above the 2013 Zena Crown Slope Pinot Noir from last night. Nose exhibits red cherry, floral and earth notes along with background oak/vanilla. Medium bodied with red cherry upfront retaining just a spark of brightness. Mid-body continues to improve as its more open, more rounded and better integrated both with the upfront fruit notes and the backside, more tart notes. Elegant and balance with soft red raspberry, lighter strawberry and then tart red cherry towards the back. Tannins and spice notes have continues to integrate, leading to a finish of earth, spices, mineral and fine grained tannins. Has evolved exactly as I'd hope and overall, the balance, especially between the fruit and oak/vanilla was far better than the 2013 Zena Crown Slope. Should be able to last at least 18+ months at this level, possibly a bit longer, but it's drinking so well at present (with about 90 minutes to two hours open), no reason to delay.
