  March 2, 2019 - Tasted blind and very difficult to place, the tannins were really ripe and soft, nose a bit plummy but not over done. Color was beautiful ruby with a hint of garnet. A great pleasure to drink with some roasted pork!

  December 26, 2018 - Christmas Day 2018
  
  A: Very Dark. Black.
  N: Leather, tar, black fruits, alcohol
  P: juicy, pliable texture. Tons of fruit. Soft tannins. Blackcurrants. Long finish.
  =: Very good. Rich and Decadent. Not that far from the Port that was the destiny for its neighbouring vines. Very pleasurable. Very "Parker". Has a few more years available to it.

  November 20, 2018 - Decanted 3 hours prior to drinking, consumed over the next 4 hours. I've had this wine on release and a couple of times over the years since. Over time it has gradually lost that complexity it had when young. That said, there is still nice tar and graphite on the palate along with some dark fruit. As this has aged it has become much more one-dimensional and the finish has developed a big hollow spot, which really affects it's overall rating. Still enjoyable but I would drink sooner rather than later. I don't see this getting better with further aging. 88 Points

  January 29, 2017 - Gosto muito dos vinhos do Douro, mas nunca achei o refinamento seu ponto forte. Contudo, este Vallado, safra após safra, se transformou no meu benchmark em elegância para os Douros. Frutas negras e azuis, ameixas pretas, cassis, defumados, expresso e chocolate meio amargo. Médio a encorpado, balanceado, textura aveludada, intensidade e frescor que impressionam. Seria interessante vê-lo numa degustação as cegas com Crus Classés de St. Emilion. Tem taninos mais amáveis, mas certamente não faria feio.
