March 4, 2020 - Nose initially oniony but that mostly blew off. Mostly. Just enough sulfur remained to make me doubt the bottle a little. No citrus, hardly any fruit of any kind. No florals. Not particularly brisk in terms of acidity. Fairly clean finish. Definitely on the savory side, grassy....almost onion-grassy.
I haven't tasted enough white Bordeaux to know if this is typical or unusual. Well -- the Chateau La Maroutine definitely shared the onion-grass flavor, but that bottle was definitely flawed.
Day 2, just a touch of citrus but still mostly grass. Not loving this.
Day 3. What a surprise. Now it tastes fresh, with mild lemon and white fruits. Delicious. Needed a lot of air, I guess? Delicious into Day 4 and the end of the bottle.
