March 3, 2019 - Bacon fat on the nose on opening, this burns off over the next 15-20 minutes. Very intense pinot fruit profile, not for the faint of heart. Plenty of dark plum and cherry, earthy spicebox and good weight in the mouth, not a lightweight in any sense of the word. I think this has been underestimated by a lot of people out there. Clearly it needed some years in bottle to get to this good place. A shame this is our last bottle..….

March 17, 2018 - Not a Pinot to me. Overly fruity and a bit in the sweet side

March 9, 2017 - Enjoyed at Classic Wine in a 3-bottle Eleven Eleven tasting. This pinot didn't have it overall. The texture was good, the nose was actually most of the reason why I gave it an 88 instead of an 86. The fruit was classic RRV, and poured that dusty rose color in the glass. This wine was, as mentioned before, very good on the nose. Good black cherry and dirty raspberry nose, with a hint of mint and allspice. The wine started off nicely, and then just went nowhere. Finish was very brief, and I found myself basically choking this one down so that I could get to the Cab.

    February 22, 2017 - PNV Week - Dinner with Eleven/Eleven Team (1111 Winery - Napa, CA): Pre-dinner with hors d'oeuvres.

Medium ruby color, opaque. Nose of cherry, spices and vanilla. Palate of dark cherry, plums, baking spice. Medium finish and mouthfeel. Needs a few years in the bottle, should be showing well in about 3 years

    November 15, 2016 - From their website:
On the vines of the historical Bacigalupi vineyard, this whole berry, native yeast fermented Pinot Noir grew to perfection. The nose captivates with scents of cinnamon spice, cola, black cherry, sweet toffee, and vanillia. From the first sip this wine sings of cherry pie: fruit forward and warm from start to finish with plush character of plum, dark, red berries, and hints of chocolate. The ripe tannis and acidity of this unfined and unfiltered wine complement its richness offering a lenghthy deliscious experience. Cellared properly this wine will age well to 2025 an beyond.
