March 12, 2009 - light pommegranite and cranberry with a minerality like iron (although pleasent). Liike and pleasing with a fennel type note that drifted in and out from attack to finish. short to med finish.

June 5, 2008 - ok nose of strawberry and a little earth, but the wine was thin on the palate.

consumed over 2 days and it never really blossomed.

November 13, 2007 - Crazy funk on the bottle when opened. strict and tight. not pleasant

left it open on the dining room table over night... and it was clean and had significant fruit the next day. tasted the remaining glass on day 3 and it was still holidng together nicely with a cherry/strawberry fruit with some mineral high tones and a medium short finish. needs a major decant or better yet, just don't open it for a while..

    May 12, 2007 - was not decanted.
this was a little strict in it's flavor. very pleasent, but not developed. the nose was nicely purfumed, and there was great acidity, it has hidden much of its fleshy fruit at this point. Still has that nice cherry and a little earth, but it isn't shining yet. I do think (hope) that it will improve.

June 28, 2006 - this bottle wasn't as good as the previous one.
had the funk on the nose after opening, and exhibited nice cherry aromas and taste, but it wasn't as complex as the first bottle and didn't have the power. hopefully it will emerge from this state or maybe it was an off bottle.

February 10, 2005 - really good from the start....no decanting
first whiff after popping the cork had some funky earth smell with much fruit behind it so we knew we were in for a nice evening.
    the funk quickly dissapated
great nose of earth and dark fruit...loamy smell
dark cherry with a little bit of cola but very different from the Cali SRHs with the same descriptors...
    dryer and much more subtle.
no mistaking this for anything but a good red burgundy.

we really like the red Cortons.

first of a case... plan to taste at regular intervals to see how this develops.

November 18, 2004 - Heritage: Sweet ripe berry, hint of swt spice underneath; a bit closed, but low int. cin., gripping sharp t’s-but mth coating glycerin at fin! Bright, elegant cherry in mth. Great complex stuff to age.
