August 7, 2021 - Aging very well. Violets, bright raspberry, warm spice. Long finish with smoked meat. Decanted 30 minutes.

October 25, 2020 - Deep ruby. Surprising old-world profile to the nose along with CA fruit underlying in a complex and seamless way. Dark plum, currant and blackberry fruit, pepper and smoked meat. Blackberry and strawberry on the palate, adding vanilla, bacon and black pepper. Acidity and tannins seamlessly integrated, and the body has lift and freshness. I'm not sure what longer aging brings these wines, but this is fantastic now. I think he is unfortunately not making a 100% Syrah from this vineyard anymore.

August 23, 2020 - Decanted 2 hours. Much improved from my last bottle (89/100) so I think almost 3 years of additional bottle age helped a lot. This is a big wine, high abv, massive fruit, and still quite hefty structure. Blackberry, fig, licorice and spice, ending in a delicious dark chocolate and coffee melange. Drink now - 2024+.

May 23, 2020 - Sheesh... Another great showing. Ripe fruit still showing up front and harmoniously integrated with the ~15.3% alc. Pristine precision, very juicy, lingering chewy tannins. Really no sign of age but drinking beautifully; I wouldnt risk much more cellaring.

December 18, 2019 - Violet and raspberry on the nose. Some alcohol fumes, but not off-putting. Nice berry and hints of black olive in the mouth. Light bodied with a long finish. A tad astringent but very pleasant drinking at this point. I have three bottles remaining and look forward to seeing what another couple of years aging might bring.
