Community Tasting Notes 5

July 26, 2019 - Cork was partially disintegrated. Bottle was stored at the bottom of my cellar with a bit of seasonal temperature variation. Wine is still got some tannins but is clearly past it’s prime....
Will taste it further as it has been decanted in preparation for a lamb dinner.
After eight hours in a decanter this improved quite a bit.

December 24, 2010 - Another find in my late father-in-law's basement.

A little bit of Bordeaux, straight out of Sonoma. Not sure if its the age or the starting product.... After opened an hour, aromas of earth and barnyard dominated over plums and a kiss of berries. Plenty of acidity and tannins were still around. Moderate amount of fruit makes me think Bordeaux Superiur vs. Dry Creek. Overall, a very nice wine.

February 6, 2007 - A bit vegetal on the nose, but some ripe fruit as well, and some heat. On the palette, it it much more enjoyable, with integrated tannins, very ripe dark fruit, and a pleasant finish. If I can find more, I'll get some if the price is right. With a more pleasant nose, this would be absolutely fantastic.

October 24, 2006 - At first I thought that it had not kept. Then I realized it was built like a french wine with the astringent flavor. Not a big fan but was OK

March 21, 2006 - quite pleasant but a little over the hill has lost its initial fruitiness actually earthineess and sweet rich tannins are a good description
